As a key institution within the judicial system of Sri Lanka, the Commercial High Court of Colombo handles complex commercial litigation, including high-value disputes, intellectual property cases, and corporate law matters. In collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development, the Court sought to modernize its case administration processes through a comprehensive digital solution. The objective was to streamline the full lifecycle of legal cases, enhancing efficiency, transparency, and coordination among judicial stakeholders.
The Court's existing processes relied heavily on manual workflows, making it difficult to manage large volumes of complex cases efficiently. Tracking case progress, scheduling hearings, and handling legal documentation required significant administrative effort, leading to delays and increased backlog. Additionally, maintaining confidentiality while enabling access for multiple stakeholders, including judges, registrars, and legal professionals, posed a critical challenge. The system needed to ensure accuracy, security, and seamless coordination across all stages of case management.
